If you drive a private vehicle: This will depend on how good is your other eye. If your other eye is legally eligible to drive (you can see the number plate of a car at 67 feet, your visual field is fine and you do not have double vision), then you can drive in few days after your cataract surgery. But, drive only if you feel safe. The optician, who will check the power of your glasses after the operation will give you an objective measurement of your vision.
If you drive a public transport vehicle: You need to have good vision in both eyes (including good visual field and absence of double vision). This means you will have to get a check up done by your optician to objectively quantify your vision. If this is fine in both of your eyes then you are legally okay to drive.
