You will most likely require a specialist check up if you have one or more of the following:
1. If your optician raised concern about raised pressure in your eyes
2. If you are over 40 years old with some other risk factors
3. If you are very short sighted (Myopic, minus power in your glasses/contact lens)
4. If you are very far sighted (Hypermetropic, plus power in your glasses)
5. If you have a family history of Glaucoma ( Blood relatives)
6. If you are diabetic for sometime
7. If you had previous eye trauma, bleeding inside your eye or closed head trauma
8. If you are of African-Caribbean descent
9. If you are taking any steroid based medications for a long time
10. If you experience progressive loss of visual field and vision
11. If you have tilted optic discs, it is worth having an eye check up
12. If you see colour halos around light and happen to have frequent browaches and headaches in dim lighting conditions
13. If your optician raised concern about any suspicious features of glaucoma in your eyes (increased cupping of the optic nerve head, visual field change/loss)
14. If you see colours appear less colourful or if they appear washed out (desaturated).
15. If your glasses need frequent changing without your full satisfaction
