Does my GP need to know?
Alhough it is not necessary to ask your GP to refer you to Mr Raj to be seen privately, but it is often beneficial since your GP will often be able to provide a lot of important medical information in the referral letter. Often after discussing with your GP first, your GP will be quite comfortable about referring you to Mr Raj or another Ophthalmic consultant who is registered on the Specialist List of the UK General Medical Council. The General Medical Council recommends that your GP should be kept informed of all medical treatment that you undergo, and Mr Raj will abide by this guideline.
