After cataract surgery in your first eye, the eye takes about 6 weeks to heal completely. This also allows the eye to achieve a stable power (your optician will check your eye for this), in addition this helps planning for the second eye cataract surgery which may be done after 6 weeks from the first eye surgery.
In some cases, especially if you have very high power (of glasses) difference between your eyes after the first cataract surgery the second eye operation can be done sooner after the first eye surgery. This is because some patients do find it extremely difficult to use both their eyes together if the power difference between them were high (>3 Dioptre).
Please feel free to discuss this with Mr Raj at first consultation and he will try to accommodate your requests and plan accordingly.
