Everyone is at risk of Glaucoma !
We are all at risk for glaucoma from babies to senior citizens. Older people are at a higher risk for glaucoma but babies can also be born with glaucoma (approximately 1 out of every 10,000 babies). Young adults can get glaucoma, too. African-Caribbeans in particular are susceptible at a younger age.
The prevalence of glaucoma is 2% after 40 years of age and this increases to 10% over 75 years of age.
Someone wisely pointed out " we might all develop glaucoma if we all lived long enough".
